In a world that seems to never slow down, your shower might be the only time of the day you have to yourself. It’s your chance to escape your daily stress, take some deep breaths, and practice mindfulness before the hectic day begins. And if you’re truly lucky, you might even be able to sneak in a relaxing bath at the end of the night!
Make the most of this precious time by incorporating calming essential oils into your bathing routine, which can help relax both the body and the mind.
Diffuse Oils with Shower Steam
Create a Calming DIY Body Wash
To create a natural, aromatic body wash that will leave you smelling great all day, combine 40drops of oil (I love lavender!) with 3 oz of unscented, all-natural body soap.
Make a Shower Bomb
To make one, combine 1 cup baking soda, 1/3 cup distilled water, and 25 drops of your favorite essential oil.
Make an Exfoliating Scrub
You can also make an exfoliating essential oil scrub by mixing 1/2 cup organic sugar, 1/2 cup coconut oil, and 15 drops of any essential oil to enhance your mood in the morning!
Not only does the oil smell amazing, but the sugar exfoliates dead skin while the coconut oil leaves your body silky-smooth.
Soothe Dry Skin
In addition to the exfoliating scrub, you can relieve dry, cracked skin by mixing natural shea butter and coconut oil with a combination of the following oils: lavender, helichrysum, chamomile, rosemary, and rose.
This mixture is particularly effective in cold winter weather when your skin thirsts for extra moisture.
Relieve After-Work Stress
Combine with Bath Salts
Upgrade your bath salts by adding a few drops of essential oils. I love pink Himalayan salts, which can help soothe sore muscles and detox your skin, but any natural bath salt will do!
